The time is now to get more Greens to Parliament!

Does political gridlock leave you craving a reality check? Are you eager for the day when the big debate in Prime Minister’s Questions is how to progress reaching carbon neutrality and closing the inequality gap? You are not alone.

The upcoming General Election is our chance to bring more Greens to Parliament. MPs you can trust to re-build a Britain that works for everyone and paves a path to a greener future.

We have a plan to force the establishment to act. But, we need your support to make it real. We do not have the financial backing of big business or unions, and we are proud of that. Our politics begins and ends with you.

Each of the major parties will have more than £10m to use on the election. We are hoping to raise £300k.

That is the minimum we need to make your voice heard in this campaign. The funds will be spent on:

  • extending our social media reach
  • hiring more campaigns staff
  • printing leaflets
  • putting up billboards in our target areas

How will Greens move the country from chaos to progress?

Earlier this year, The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change explained that we have 12 years left to dramatically reduce our carbon footprint for Earth to remain habitable for humanity. The time is NOW for radical action that combine economic and environmental justice. Green policy responds to the reality that we are in a Climate Emergency.

Boris Johnson pledges £10 million to the Amazon rain forest. But Caroline Lucas pushes him further to address the root cause of the destruction of the lungs of the world by asking if the Government will be sanctioning Brazil and limiting the importation of goods that are incentivising the destruction. Greens ask the tough questions, reveal the inconvenient truths and offer solutions, not sticking plasters.

The time is now to:

  • phase out fossil-fuel subsidies and fund the creation of a green grid to make renewable energy the cheapest option for all
  • invest in new technology and skills training that make our society carbon neutral by 2030
  • ban fracking, create the framework for a zero waste society and redevelop our land to absorb carbon already in our atmosphere
  • strengthen international agreements that will define all of our futures and lead at the COP 26 in Glasgow 2020

Our European friendships are crucial in addressing the biggest issues of our time. Finding solutions to the climate crisis and repairing our economy is impossible without working hand in hand with our closest neighbours.

We will insist a Brexit deal is brought to the people with all the facts on the table. We will call for a second referendum that is transparent and ethical. We all deserve to make decisions based on the truth.

The only way out of polarisation is through pure democracy.

We must make sure that we all have a say in the issues that will define our time: Brexit and the Climate Crisis.

The Green Wave is growing. Friends, we are in this together. You can trust us to always tell you the truth. Now is the time to turn talk into action.

In this year’s European Election, twice as many people voted Green compared to the 2015 General Election and 7 Green MEPs was sent to Brussels. That is an incredible testament to the power of our movement. Now, let’s send more Green MPs to Parliament!
